Dr. Marja-Liisa Siikonen

Marja-Liisa Siikonen is the founder of MLS Lift Consulting Ltd. She was also the chairwoman and program manager of the Elevcon conference. In 2023 Elevcon was arranged in Prague, in 2025 it will be arranged in Lisbon.

Dr. Siikonen is a worldwide elevator traffic expert. She worked for over 30 years at KONE Corporation with elevator traffic and control systems, and in traffic planning of Major Projects. Dr. Siikonen can provide the most sophisticated transportation design based on the latest technology for tall and mid-rise buildings. She was also the convener of the ISO working group that developed the latest passenger elevator selection standard for offices, hotels, and residential buildings. Her transportation device designs for new and modernization projects will meet the latest requirements of the ISO 8100-32:2020 standard.

In 2024 she was invited as an academic visitor in Aalto University, Espoo. She was also elected as the president of IAEE (International Association of Elevator Engineers) in 2024.
